Cultural Arts Board

About the Cultural Arts Board:

  • The purpose of the Cultural Arts Board is to serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters pertaining to the arts.
  • This board has seven members who are appointed by the City Council.  Members serve two-year terms. 
  • Monthly meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month at City Hall or other locations as announced.
  • The board may solicit for the city gifts, revenues, bequests, or endowments of money or property as donations or grants from persons, firms or corporations, subject to guidance, approval and acceptance by the City Council.
  • Artists, writers, musicians, performers, or others interested in receiving grant funds should make a written request to the Cultural Arts Board.
  • Board members administer the use of the Lakeside Arts Center (LAC), 6301-B Main Street.  Those wishing to use the LAC should contact the Staff Liaison below. 

Our mission is to nurture, enrich, enhance, mentor, and advance all cultural arts for the citizens of The Colony and beyond.
