Mission Statement
The Office of Information Technology will provide the highest quality technology-based services in the most cost-effective manner, and to facilitate the City’s mission as it applies to our citizens, city departments, and local community.
In order to accomplish this mission we will always strive to…
- provide the leadership necessary to effectively strategize and tactically plan the best possible use of technology
- promote and facilitate the fluid integration of technology supporting the City’s mission through planning, programming, training, and consulting, among other support activities
- develop and maintain highly efficient, reliable, secure, and innovative information systems in support of the City’s many objectives
- develop and manage the distribution of products and services through broadcast, broadband, software, and the World Wide Web, among other telecommunication technologies, both internally and publically
- provide fast and reliable access to all information systems
- provide effective technology support for audio/visual, computer, multimedia, voice, video, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including web-based applications and services
- develop, enhance, manage, and maintain the City’s enterprise networks to provide high-speed, transparent, and highly functional connectivity among all information resources
- protect City interests by accounting for all application licenses, maintenance contracts, documentation, security policies, and data integrity
- research and explore new technology and promote those products or solutions that would enhance and/or extend the capabilities of any/all of our Information System
