H2O Go!
Hey kids! Are you a pretty good swimmer already? Would you like some lap time to get in shape and get in the fast lane before the summer season? H2O Go orchestrates lap times so that you can swim with kids in your own skill bracket.
Please note- There are prerequisites for the three different skill groups. To enter this program, the instructor will need to see basic strokes to make sure the swimmer will be comfortable swimming laps with other children at a set speed. As this four-month program develops… the group will be advancing. The level of skill that a late comer needs may be higher. For example, a Yellow Group swimmer is expected to be comfortable in all four competitive strokes to enter this program in February.
YELLOW GROUP: skill level for January entry into the program:
Age 10 & under “B” swimmers.
These swimmers swim both freestyle and backstroke very well. They should be breathing to the side on freestyle with rhythmic timing.
Emphasis is placed on developing the proper techniques and fundamentals of the four competitive strokes. Most of the time is spent developing breaststroke & butterfly. Swimmers will gradually build stamina by increasing the yardage. Swimmers should be able to swim at a Red Cross Level 4 in swimming lessons before entering this group. Please note that breast stroke and butterfly are developed in the first 3-4 weeks of the clinic, therefore, late registration will not be permitted after February 1st if your swimmer cannot swim all 4 strokes..
GREEN GROUP:skill level for January entry into the program:
Age 8 & under “A” swimmers,
Age 9-10 “A” swimmers
Age 11-12 “B” swimmers.
These swimmers know how to swim all four strokes and are technically sound.
Technique and speed will be alternated each week. On speed weeks, swimmers will raise their heart rates and the yardage. This group will continue working on technique, but will keep working hard to prepare for swimmer.
BLUE GROUP: skill level for January entry into the program:
Age 11-12 “A” swimmers
Age 13 & Up
These swimmers swim all four strokes very well, and many are on the verge, or have already become a State level swimmer. This group will work mostly on speed and continuing the technique work in preparation for next summer.
IMPORTANT NOTICE!
